Mecklenburg Stage

On your journey from the water city of Fürstenberg/Havel to the Baltic Sea, you will be cycling through the lowland plains of small lakes in Mecklenburg, a mosaic made up of 320, often interconnected, clear lakes. The baroque city of Neustrelitz with its palace gardens and orangery lies dreaming in its midst. Just behind Neustrelitz is the gateway to the Müritz National Park with Germany‘s largest inland lake - the Müritz. On the journey through the picturesque city of Waren (Müritz) allow your gaze to wander across the »little sea«. Along Lake Kölpin and past the bison enclosure, your path meanders through the heathland of the Nossentiner-Schwinzer-Heide and the small town of Krakow am See until it reaches Güstrow. The residence city unites architectural styles from Gothic brickwork to classicism.

Your tour through Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ends at the harbour in Rostock. However, before cruising across the Baltic Sea to Denmark, enjoy the magnificent backdrop of the Hanseatic league city with the three towering red-brick churches. Or take a trip along to the Baltic Sea resort of Warnemünde with its wide sandy beach, nostalgic lighthouse and colourful harbour scenery at the Alten Strom.
